We have a great thread on bohocrush. A few women and I, feel free to join in, are reading The Ethical Slut and are going through the exercises together. Out in the open, for any and all to read, reflect, and discuss.
The first exercise was to list all of the people we can think of who are not monogamous, including characters from TV, movies, books, etc. How do you feel about each of them? What can you learn (positive or negative).
To be honest I cannot think of any hard and fast couple that are completely open about their relationship. So I do not wish to out them. It’s adult etiquette and it’s important to respect peoples boundaries unless they have stated otherwise. Society looks down upon it so much. Yet for some reason so much cheating is condoned. We need more discussions and honesty out in the open about the various adult lifestyles. Shone and I feel this is really important, a vital part of our sexuality and humanity.
Shone and I are not monogamous. We want a girlfriend, and don’t mind one bit that others know. We have not pushed the line too far, be it a little bit of making out, and some heavy petting via online. We have held our reigns there. Each time, a consideration etc, causes us to think deeply, honestly, and see the big picture and how it would or would not work in our lifestyle.
This is our way. This is all we can share. The choices and adventures that bring harmony, pleasure, and happiness to our lives. We love and appreciate others perspectives, experiences, and sharings. There are so many ways for so many people.
I think we can all agree that it’s more fun when there are no hearts trampled and nobody intentionally hurt in the process. It’s always a risk on many levels when you get to know new people, regardless if a friend or a potential lover. And it’s all worth it!! Worth every single second of it. We recommend that you take your time. Think things through. Don’t cut corners, don’t skip the steps, enjoy the process of getting to a connection just as much as the connection itself. We feel this is more emotionally and physically sustainable for all. There are going to be missteps along the way, be compassionate and considerate. There are a lot of heart and physical attachments taking place.
We welcome you to join our conversations. You can discuss honestly and openly with non judgemental community. I leave you with these graphic, a little food for thought. It might strike up some thoughts or questions that you would like to discuss with us. Along with The Ethical Slut.
wishing you all a magnificent day!
