Even the Sacred, Is Profane

Limitless.

Even the Profane, Is Sacred

God is Omnipotent.

God is Great.

My God, My God, why have you deserted me?

God is Love.

A Vengeful God.

God Bless You.

The Gods Must Be Crazy.

The Kingdom of God is Within You.

It gets a little confusing sometimes, eh? Especially now that we know so much about the multitudinous and myriad faiths all over the world. My opinion is that much of the atheism prevalent among my friends and family is largely due to the reality that no one seems to be able to come to a consensus.

Enter the “New Spirituality.” The idea that all religions, faiths and traditions hold validity, and none of them are the complete picture, and that “God” is in all of them.

New Spirituality posits the theory that everything in the Universe is “godly” or sacred. That includes all the things we call bad, too: the natural disasters, the wars, the famine, the needless death… The theory that everything has its place – even decay and death. This theory puts forward the notion that in order to have birth, beginning and evolution, the way must be cleared by descent, decay, and death.

In dream language, death indicates a new beginning.

It is my belief that there is something psychological in this; something absolutely necessary to a human being’s mental and emotional health. Some kind of deep-structure effect on brain configuration and function that enables us to know our Place in the Universe, and to be content with it.

New Spirituality says, ‘find your own Truth; and include everything and everyone within it.’ It says that Satan is a part of God just as much as Jesus is; that everything is connected. Human beings place borders and boundaries around things for our convenient reference; God is above such differentiation.

God is Atheism, just as much as it is Mormonism, Paganism, Wicca or Scientology.

When we understand this, we find that the differences evaporate – poof! And there is nothing left to disagree upon. All we do is listen to other peoples’ Truths, and begin to evaluate them on other criteria besides comparison with our own Truths. Criteria like logic, reason, and compassion.

God doesn’t have to be confusing (though God includes confusion, just as it does understanding…). Nor does God need to be limited by human reference points like “good” or “evil.” God is Everything. The Alpha and the Omega, if you will.

Simple, really.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
