regardless of our responsibilities on the playa last year, there is still no place I would rather be than in front of shones lense. I’m so thankful for the couple shoots that I was able to help create. the playa will always be my favorite place to shoot. it’s so magical, and the experiences and lessons it has taught us will last a lifetime! I’m so excited to start getting in more shoots! ahhhh it feels so good to have it on my list of to do’s~
Burning Man 2008: The American Dream
Wow! Last year was such a blurrrrrr! I have never personally taken on such a huge project! Running a 24/7 theme camp for an entire week plus throwing a major party for DPW before the event even starts. Packed with thousands of people, drinking good ole PBR and Jamesons! I learned so much about myself and gained so much experience, I will be forever grateful. Surrounded by so many amazing people:

1. david (dj david leeson) blowing up the camp the first few nights and actually getting us a sound warning for the wee hours in the morning, even though we were in the appropriate space for sound! david literally single handed drove that camp wild and furious! It was amazing!!!
2. The wheel of debauchery? Man that was the best toy to place on our bar to get people to interact and be silly! @nopantsdance took to bartending and that wheel like no other! I still have vision in my head, @nopantsdance wearing her little hat with kitty ears, topless, and shaking her booty while on her knees on the bar, spanking others!
*if you are wondering what happened to the wheel of debauchery, it is back with it’s creator. Captain Canada has reclaimed the wheel of debauchery. Lifted from it’s stand, it will be added to the wall of their condo. So the next time you enter, be prepared, you will be required to spin the wheel and most likely dance on his stripper pole coffee table.
3. The big pussy head! Man @hellamikey you did a freaking amazing job setting up the wiring backbone for that cat head! Super amazing!!! That pussy made the camp! So much love and time from @hellamikey and @kendalliscool (remember it’s where they met!!!) and david and shone! So much love in fact that I did not have the heart to throw it away.
UPDATE:
You’ll all be happy to know that the pussy is in great hands! Dan and @metaphysical1 came over this weekend and picked up the pussy. They are going to give it a new home at the FreeStyle Palace this year. I think I heard the new name of their bar, “pussy liquor!” ha ha I am so delighted that it is returning to the playa! It’s truly where that pussy belongs!
4. Do you remember the night when @moosetwit @metaphysical1 and the @brcallstars blew up our camp till like 9am! ha ha it was right after the sound warning! You know how it goes, bohemians playing in a bohemian playground. Are all the rules truly meant to be followed! FUCK YOUR DAY! I ran out of steam that night and did not get to see them rock the camp. I fell asleep from playa exhaustion, running a camp, cooking for a crew, and keeping everything going behind the scenes! I will never forget though that our love and connection was sealed on the playa!!! The Black Rock City Allstars rock!
5. The bohemian lounge socks, undies, and bandanas were a hit! If you didn’t see them, I am wearing the socks and the undies in this photoshoot! I still have a few left. 
Burning Man 2009: Evolution
There are actually a ton of thoughts and memories floating around in my heart right now as it’s getting to be the time of preparing for the playa. Last year was such a phenomenal year, and as much as we love the playa, it feels very surreal sitting back and watching all of the activity around us. We are not joining in this year. There is no lack of love, just have a few major projects on our shoulders, and we want to be able to put our hearts into it, and do our very very very best. When you love something so much, putting her best into it for the duration of the project is not a difficult task. Waking up with so much love everyday, and transferring it to all the project boards and computers that surround us in the basement. Ha ha it’s really starting to look like we are just two mad scientists down here!!!
The Summer of 2009
We are going to be only doing a few events for the summer. The Big Bounce Music Festival and one other one that we can’t share with you just yet. The rest of the time we are going to be in our laboratory! oooh haaaa haaaaaaa. I’m excited as hell to step my game up and give it even more love and energy than I ever thought imagineable! Super amazing! Super super super!

yahooooo! I love being in pictures! and I love being in pictures on the playa!!! it’s such a different world out there. so full of non stop entertainment, and various activities. you just never know what you are going to stumble onto or next too!
the playa is filled with amazing art, passion, and creativity. you seriously are jumping down the rabbit hole when you hit the playa. it’s amazing!!! we are so appreciate and grateful for the creative community that burning man groups together. it’s just such a fun playground.
the metal work of this art piece is just out of this world. the time and love dedicated to the metal and the oil derrick take so much cooperation, love and time, from people! if it were not for the artists giving their time, their weekends, their holidays, their every last second, things like this would not be possible. and what’s even better, is that the people give with a smile, with love in their hearts, and with gratitude. they all believe in the giving for so many others!

shone took kaycee and I out during the early afternoon. it was HOT! I remember it feeling so hot I could barely catch my breathe. It was awesome! I always remember to slow my movements and energy when I am on the playa during the heat of the day. It helps so much! I recommend it to all of you.
We each picked a statue that we wanted to shoot with. You may have already seen kaycee’s shoot. I enjoyed walking at a slow pace, and of course because of the big boots I was in! and I really enjoyed just taking in all of the magical and beautiful energy around me. I have to say, it was a magical day.
Kudos to my baby love and his love of shooting. The playa has taught us this important aspect of life and photography. Anytime is the best time to shoot! Be in the moment, and capture life as it is happening. No need to plan or make a big fuss. The universe is right there always, just enjoy!!! I am always in awe at the ease, and grace my love always displays anytime he is shooting. Regardless of temperature, time, event, etc. He always has that magnificent love and care. Anytime is the best time to shoot with him. He truly is the most incredible man and artist!

Shane is such a talented videographer. He just graduated from the Vancouver School of Film, and is now relocated to San Diego. Going to be hearing lots of adventures about our boy. We are so happy for him!

this weeks photoshoot comes from our recent adventures on the playa. we really enjoy the time spent out there with our friends. It’s truly a celebration unlike anything else we have experienced so far.
i remember getting the message that I had people in the holding lot up at the gate on saturday before the event opened. you see, we are early arrivals, cause we throw a big party before the event starts, and are out there for quite some time.
I needed girls and boys to help provide entertainment for the party. On this day I ended up making 3 trips, and each trip is about 1.5 hrs, so it was a long day for me if you can imagine. Wasn’t able to get all the entertainers in, but hey it’s burning man, what happens happens, and what doesn’t just isn’t meant to be. no time or need to dwell, just keep moving, and continue making the best of this very magical and amazing experience.
As I arrived Spence, (who got held up for a few hours), and Kendra and Teddy who just arrived, were waiting eagerly to cross the line. Both Kendra and Teddy were some of our virgins. And I was really excited to get them into the process!
They looked ready for the playa! Packed to the max, like every rightful burner should be! and we were off!
Was excited for them to get on their path, of finding themselves and their way on the playa. This is truly a time to get to know yourself, be yourself, and find what it is you want, or don’t want, where you want to be, what you want to see. I knew in my heart these two would have a super magical week!
Best friends, who had always spent so much time together, who were now on a journey to live independently. To seek that as a single, or now in teddy’s case a couple with her new and very talented boyfriend spence lee.
Shone and I watched from a distance, a unique experience that most likely others were not able to view. Even though shone and I had our hands full, getting everybody parked, and assigned to their camping spot, dj lineup and various entertainment, cooking for the crew, and much more. We still have the most spectacular view of all of the incredible people who were camping with us! We were blissed out needless to say!
the entire week teddy was a trooper. she was a playa dirt bunny! took to it like a natural! big smiles, sleeping outside in a sleeping bag, and enjoying every second of it! her energy blossomed by the minute! the smile kept increasing and increasing! she was really in her element!
**it’s not easy creating shoots on the playa….shone and I respect each and every person’s time, and do not make a schedule, or hold anybody to anything. we know that when the opportunity presents itself, then we will get a shoot. this is after all an experience for all of us, and we feel that a person’s magical energy spent on the playa should never be held up for anybody else’s account, including our own. we value each and every second spent out there.
it could not have come at a more perfect opportunity. teddy was ready, and we could see the gleam in her eye. she has been in several shoots, has a history of modeling, and so she is not new to being behind the camera. however, it is our goal to not directly shoot a “model” modeling anything but the natural and beautiful and unique individuals they are. this was our second shoot with her.
her grace and ease she shared with us on the playa that day was truly magical! the sun shining through the clouds, sharing the beauty of the playa and teddy was truly a sight to see!

Kaycee and I took turns picking the metal welded creatures that we resonnated with. We have more to show you with these guys, but really wanted to share this one with you first. We love you kaycee!!!

while I am enjoying so much this process of letting our minds free to create bliss and enjoyment at our camps, it took my energy towards this picture. Now some of you know more about this than others, and those others will experience it or not, but it is not for the rest of us to tell them

burning man 2006 was a magical year for us! it set a lot of the groundwork for our future, and foreshadowing of what was to come.
1. things will always be challenging, without the challenges, the rewards are not nearly as meaningful.
2. there is beauty in every aspect of life, regardless of the time of day, feel and glow of the light, all it takes is to be in the moment, and have the willingness to go with what is on your path, and make the best of it!
3. we love to create art, and we can create art anywhere we go
4. we love our community, and we are so happy to have the abilities to share with them!
5. this adventure is so much greater and bigger than the two of us!
6. stand confident and be proud in the shoes we walk in, we r bohemian!
7. love makes it all possible
I’ll never forget the amount of energy, and pure will it took us to accomplish our first year of photo shoots on the playa. We lost all our power, our water pump, were jumping RV’s to download our pictures, and learned first hand that without community we will cease to exist!
Looking back, I sit here with big smiles, from all of the memories we hold in our hearts. We got so many photo shoots with me and the playa that year. It will always be my most special year out there!
Yet none of it will be unlike anything so far. This year is going to be a magical time for us on the playa! We are so excited to take the playa this year. We bring our art, our friends, our community, and with them we celebrate, we take pictures, and we create memories that will last a lifetime!
You all might recognize that beautiful mosaic vase in the background. Perhaps. And if you all recall, that artist is having his fundraiser this saturday in SF to create another art project. We unfortunately can’t get over the hill, but we are putting all of our efforts out to get as many people there! Check out the flyer on the scrolling view on the home page under blog.
The magic of the playa is not something to keep all to oneself. It is a gift to share with any and all who cross your path! We love sharing our playa love, our playa art with our community, and we hope you enjoy, and will continue to share yours as well!
This photo shoot is one of my favorite ones from the playa! It was on saturday before the burn! And there was just a feeling inside of me that kept me floating in the clouds! 2006 will last a lifetime, and it makes it so much more exciting to look forward to 2008!

I sure do love swing sets! and I loved the big swing set on the playa last year!!! It was incredible! Anybody else get to swing on it? have a picture you want to share?
I am a virgin this year at burning man!
there has been so much buzz around these parts about burning man. The time is upon us once again!
this will be my 6th consecutive year, and shone’s numbers are in the teens, so much that he refers to himself as a virgin each year. I kind of like the way he does it. When he meets somebody new, he lets them know that he is a virgin, and loves to hear their stories, and their do’s, and do not’s, great adventures, and it really makes you feel like you are a virgin. There are so many experiences to have on the playa, and so many things to see, that you can literally feel like a virgin every year.
So, I am a virgin this year!!!!!
and I am going to really want to feel like a virgin by the time we hit the playa this year!!
Upcoming Plans
Big things on the list this year. My first meeting with Bill is next week, and hopefully we get some burning man planning covered, I love him dearly, and he really needs love right now, so I don’t want to push in an area if he is not 100% present and ready to put our big camps together this year. I will be coordinating lots of the works between a few of us and our big theme camp. But I know that this will be the start! and I am really excited about it. The time has come to seriously start planning, and preparing.
DPW
Last year we threw a huge party on the playa before burning man ever started! A tribute to the DPW, they work hard, and they are amazing and wonderful people. You can volunteer too. check out:
This year we are throwing another big party, the saturday before the festival starts. And yes, we will be throwing it up with PBR and Jameson’s for all of the workers of DPW! Many of them camped in our camp last year, and there will be even more of them this year.
*******If you ever come across the path of the DPW, say hello, offer them a cold refreshing drink, prepare a really amazing meal for them, give them hugs, and remember this!!! no matter what, do not take offense, they work hard, they give their all, and out in the hot sun, with hardly a consistent shower, they volunteer to make the rest of our adventures super duper amazing! Send love, smiles, and energy there way. without them, we would not have a playa to play on!!!!!**************
Deep Playa
Last year we were way out in deep playa. At the time, I was not sure about the location, but as soon as we set up camp, and had the beautiful deep playa in our backyard, I could hardly feel like we were in the wrong place. We got beautiful deep playa double rainbow photos!
The elements
The rain and sand storms came in with a furry last year! It was incredible! I had one of the greatest afternoons ever!!! We were all locked in, and if you have seen our little trailer, you know that we cannot fit too many people in. However, I had a packed house, and enjoyed spending the afternoon making vegetarian sushi for everybody. I don’t think I have ever eaten anything that tasted so good! Was that the day we got the beautiful double rainbows? I cannot remember! It was all so magical.
We hope you are in the mood soon for lots of magical pictures by bohocrush of the playa last year. We like holding on to them, and then start releasing them before we set out again to the playa. We have been releasing a few of them from last year here and there, and mostly have come from 2006 and 2007. We hope you are enjoying them. And hope you will enjoy what is still yet to come!

getting ready to move things into a higher gear. time to get all of our ducks in a row, and accomplish a big theme camp out on the playa! lots of people, lots of time, (i hope) and lots of creativity.
